The Essex Austin Seven Club (EA7C) was established in November 1974 by six enthusiasts who set out a series of principles for the club's foundation. These included promoting interest in and the enjoyment of the Austin Seven in a social setting, benefiting both members and charity. A monthly Club Night was organized at a local pub, where a guest speaker would address the group or a short quiz or 'feely bag' competition would be held, always allowing time for a friendly chat. While EA7C is a vintage car club, it has always made special arrangements to involve members' wives in its activities—a tradition that continues to this day.
